me, myself and Mr. Nilsson

I don't know if you remember this painting, I made this one before I started to make the big drawings. This one is from 2011. This painting is my submission for a open call for an exhibition about self-portraits. The intention for this competion is to start a discussion about art. The organisation will take a closer look to the art-works of those people who have a discussion going on about their work. These works will make it to the exhibition... So if you feel like it or have any questions about this work or just want to tell what you see in this work, click here! You will see my entry and below you can spread your mind. Of course you can do this to any other art work you like on this site.

And if you have any energy left, you can also leave a comment here ;-)
I wish you all a good weekend and thank you for your support anyway, just by reading this blog!

  1. No, I do not remember but it's because I had not seen before, otherwise I would remember well, because I like this a looooottttttttt!!!!!
is one of your best artwork, Celine, you know I like the elements that somehow break with the traditional. breaking, with that, that mediocre thought expect to see. The monkey, is one of those elements.
    Congratulations, Celine!!!!!!!!!!! :)))))

  6. Just a small note - I couldn't leave comment on the web site since I need facebook account and I don't have it :( Sorry for that. Here is what I was going to write there:
"Yet another great picture from Celine. I like her work and unique way of doing her self-portrets. The way color flows thru out the picture makes this one very liquidy but yet very sharp and to the point. It's a pleasure to look at it all the time."

  7. It is a painting I carry in mind now for some days. So many questions. It cries. I love the colors, the use of the contrast. I wonder if the artist got hair like Pipi? Or does she would like to have hair like that? How old is she? Is it a memory? ( I don´t understand what is written under "Omschrijving ", sorry.) The more I think about it the more it scares. I love the mystic in it. It is a bit crazy but probably it´s very true.

    1. Hi Madeleine, thank you for your time and that you wrote such a wonderful comment! I that you told me how it works to you. I'll translate the "omschrijving", it won't aswer all your question, so you'll have something left to think about;-)
" Pippi Longstocking: hero of my youth. I take her characteristic orange hair/tails and the monkey. Does her power jumps over to me, is this what she would have looked liked as a grown-up woman?"
