happiness hit her

I finished drawing number 8 of my Pippi-serie! It feels like I've done a lot more of them, but maybe that's because the drawings are so big (150 x 230 cm). Yesterday I had to say goodbye to 4 of them: they will be shown in an exhibition. More about that later this week. I find it hard to leave my work, but I left them with professionals who know how to handle precious work... I hope!

  1. Oh! It must have been a lot of work for you to do all 8 drawings! I imagine how much red pencils... I like the skirts of all Pippis. This one is not afraid to protect herself. I like the your idea to make grown-up Pippis. In Astrid Lindgren's book Pippi wants to remain a child forever, but I guess even she couldn't.. We all have to grow up from our safe childhood and face the dangerous world. And Pippi was always a strong girl, so she knows how to protect herself. Oh just my vision! Maybe your idea was totally different! (You can e-mail me about it.)

It must be hard for an artist to give her works in other people's hands. I know it would be hard for me to send my stories/poems somewhere.
