up and down around again

This drawing is based on one of those old wooden christmas-figures for in your christmas-tree. It's an angel sitting on a rocket.... It was not my design or idea;-) I post this because on sunday it's the first Advent, so count down to christmas! I wish you all a nice weekend.

drawing challenge

This weeks drawing challenge is hosted by Patrice and she has this great theme: little red riding hood. This time I didn't make a drawing but a photo just because I finally saw a change to use a great little figure of mine. I don't know, I just think she is so sweet and funny at the same time, and different. And I think she can manage this situation: the sun is shining and that wolf... well... she can handle him;-)
For more little red riding hoods check out Patrice blog and I wish you a nice weekend!

favourite girl

Meet my favourite almost-every-day-girl. I have to pass her when I deliver my mail (my job to earn some money) in a small village.  She stands in front of a house which used to be a gallery but now it's a bed and breakfast. She's the only one who is left and I don't now the artist. I like her. I like the long legs and her socks and her orange hair. Maybe it's because she reminds me of my drawings.

shoplift a thought or two

Thank you for the nice comments on my birthday-post! I had a really nice weekend with family and friends, food and beautiful and sweet presents. So I welcome the new year!

And because of this I didn't had much time to draw, so today I show you a page of my "collecting-words-and-sentences-sketchbook". I collect sentences I read from newpapers, magazines, books and songtext. I love words, I'm just really bad in using them myself (that's why I draw;-), so I collect them and shuffle them an create new ones I use for the titles of my works. On the right page you can see my interest for woman's right or problem's...

hip, hip....

...Hurrah!

This weekend I celebrate my birthday: on sunday I'll turn 32...Celebrating my birthday gives me always a funny feeling. I don't like the numbers, because I don't feel like 32. It sounds like so much and in a way old (I now that you're all laughing out loud, those who are older then me;-) and at the same time I'm lucky to get older, I just have to think about my mother. That's way I look so funny in my selfportrait.

I wish you all a nice weekend and if you feel like it: check my other blog for what I'm going to do with my quests.

animals are always right

No, this is not my rabbit Pollock or a new friend of him (which would be nice) but a Belgian hare in the Gaia Zoo, where I spend my sunday moring. This zoo was started in 2005 and it's about 15 minutes by car from where we live. I don't like the concept of a zoo that much, especially the old fashion cages, but because this zoo is so new they have a new concept. They used nature environment and everything is made of wood or glass. No iron cages or weird rocks for lions but big places for the animals so there is a risk that you can't see them. And it's just great that it's so nearby that we can visit it anytime and see it develop and the newborn animals. And we can buy this cheap card which we can use the whole year. I couldn't resist: here are some more animal pictures:

dreams in a glass elevator

Yesterday I saw a documentary about ballet-dancers. When I was younger I wanted to be one. Not like a little girls dream, but for real. I danced and practised a lot. I didn't want to be a classic ballarina but I wanted to dance in modern productions. When I was about 16 something in my knee broke and my dream was over. I stopped dancing and even today when I see something on TV I get little melancholy and I wonder... About a year ago my sister asked me if I wanted to join her to "zumba" classes. It's not the same and I didn't danced over 14 years but it's even better: we have fun! And I can be fanatical one day a week;-)
